Greenville water authority required an eight mile segment of 72" potable water transmission line supplying water to the city of Greenville South Carolina to be cleaned following structural repairs. Due to infrequent manhole access, various technical challenges, and a preference to avoid damaging the pipeline for access, conventional cleaning methodologies where deemed impractical by the utility.
Genesis was contracted to develop and deploy a specialized pipe cleaning system to clean and sanitize the interior pipe wall prior to flushing and placing the line in operation.
The eight mile segment was cleaned and disinfected in 22 days and successfully returned to service without excavation or damage to the pipeline.
